Sierra Leona Adoption

Sierra Leona Flag Sierra Leona adoption is possible primarily due to severe economic circumstances. These children are all legally free for adoption and in the most cases have no living relatives able to support them.

This along with the impact of a long drawn out civil war as well as HIV, and the devastation of various other medical and health issues has created a large population of children who are in need of safe, loving adoptive families.

Children Available:

Infants and children up to 16 years of age are available. Many sibling groups.

Approximate Cost:

$15,000, maybe more.

Adoptive Parents Eligibliltiy Requirements

Couples or single women may adopt from Sierra Leona. On average adoptive parents should be within 24 to 55 years of age. If you are over 50 years of age you must be more flexible regarding the children and their ages.

Adoptive families may adopt either Christian or Muslim children, but must respect the child's religious heritage.

Travel Requirements:

One parent is required to travel to attend the court hearing for the adoption, the duration will range between 3-14 days.

Timeline:
