Haiti Adoptions – Advice and Info for Interested Parents
• Just a quick note and video regarding Haiti adoptions..
Even before the earthquake took place in Haiti on January 12, 2010, it was one of the poorest countries in the world. Struggling to recover from years of violence, insecurity and massive natural disasters.
Some of the children had already lost their parents in previous disasters, including four tropical storms or hurricanes that killed about 800 people in 2008, deadly storms in 2005 and 2004, and massive floods almost every other year since 2000.
Now, thousands of children have been orphaned by the earthquake, so many, that officials cannot venture a number.
As for adoptions in Haiti that are already in progress, they will continue until complete, however, the government has closed any new adoptions until further notice.
I came across this video with “Adoption Expert, Mardie Caldwell, Founder and CEO of Lifetime Adoption Center” and “Dixie Bickel, Founder of God’s Littlest Angel’s Orphanage in Haiti” Listen to what they have to say about adoptions in Haiti at this time.
